Vojik TB&D Telekommunikation, Germany SCOPE The conference, now in its seventh meeting, has been a major forum for the presentation and exchange of new research results in all areas of parallel and distributed computing among the international parallel processing community. The 1994 conference attracted researchers from over 20 countries. The planned 1995 meeting will feature invited speakers, contributed papers, tutorials, workshops and commercial exhibits, and will be held on the quaint campus of the Georgetown University in the heart of the Washington metropolitan area, which encompasses the world's largest concentration of distributed processing and networking companies. The conference location is only minutes away from some of the most visited tourist attractions in the USA: the Washington monument, the Capitol, the Smithsonian and several other museums. Authors are invited to submit papers on original, unpublished research in all areas of parallel and distributed computing and systems. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Architecture Processor and memory architectures Algorithms I/O in parallel and distributed systems Software Fault tolerance Resource allocation Distributed database Load partitioning and balancing Network communication Scheduling High performance computing Modelling Neural networks Evaluation VLSI Optimization Application of parallel & distributed Numerical methods computing in: Scientific computing Signal processing Parallelizing compilers Image processing Programming languages Multimedia Massively parallel systems Control Heterogeneous computing Simulation Data flow computing Robotics Operating systems Environmental systems Real time systems Education Interconnection networks Others SUBMISSION OF PAPERS Four copies of the complete manuscript are to be received by the Secretary prior to APRIL 15, 1995. Regular and short papers should be limited to 12 and 8 double-spaced pages respectively, using 12 point type. All papers will be reviewed for quality and technical merit. Each paper submitted must include an abstract, a maximum of five key words - at least two from the list above - to indicate the subject area of the paper. Authors will be notified of the review decisions by JUNE 15, 1995. Camera-ready papers and preregistration are due AUGUST 1, 1995. Selected papers will be considered for publication in a special issue of the International Journal of Mini and Microcomputers. Please note that electronic submissions will not be accepted. WORKSHOPS Workshops are special groupings of related sessions that offer in-depth exploration of selected discipline topics. Individuals and special interest groups are invited to propose workshop topics and to participate in their organization and implementation. Submit a concise proposal for a recommended workshop to the Conference Chair by APRIL 30, 1995. TUTORIALS The conference will feature full and half-day tutorials on current active topics of specific interest to the parallel processing community. Proposals are solicited from interested individuals for organizing and conducting such tutorials. The proposals should reach the Conference Chair by May 31, 1995. Each proposal should include a synopsis of the tutorial topic, intended audience, description of handout material to be used, and a resume of the lecturer(s). Scheduled Tutorial (October 18) DATA PARALLEL ALGORITHMS - Prof. H.J. Siegel Purdue University, USA INDUSTRIAL/COMMERCIAL EXHIBITS Exhibits of system products of particular interest to the conference attendees will be organized to allow vendors to display and demonstrate such products in an informal interactive setting. Companies wishing to participate should contact the Conference Chair by MAY 31, 1995.
