FINAL CALL FOR PAPERS TOOLS FOR PARALLEL PROGRAMMING ICA3PP-96 MINI-TRACK *** Submission of papers (hard copy): February 5, 1996 *** *** Submission of papers (email): February 15, 1996 *** IEEE Second International Conference on Algorithms & Architectures for Parallel Processing Singapore June 11-13, 1996 The main aim of this Mini-Track is to provide a forum to bring together researchers, developers and users of tools for parallel programming. Although the need for software tools is widely recognised in the parallel programming community, the use of such tools is still often restricted by their lack of portability and scalability. The Mini-Track will provide an opportunity to discuss issues concerned with the design of tools which are responsive to users' needs and which provide support for high performance computing across the full range of parallel computers and distributed networks. Topics of specific interest include (but are not limited to): + visual parallel programming + program visualization and animation + novel monitoring and debugging techniques + performance tuning of parallel programs + performance modeling and prediction + automatic parallelization techniques + tools for parallel high level languages + scheduling and load balancing + support for heterogeneous computing + case studies and applications The Mini-Track solicits high quality papers describing new and innovative research in these or related topics. Papers advancing the frontiers of tool design by addressing the above issues or which present practical and reliable tools which match the requirements of scientists and engineers in developing high performance applications are particularly welcome. This Mini-Track is expected to have a good blend of papers covering theoretical aspects of tool design, new techniques, and reports and case studies of successful parallel tools. It will therefore be of interest to researchers, scientists and engineers, and will help to foster collaboration between these often diverse groups in the academic, industrial and government sectors. SUBMISSIONS Submissions may be made by hard copy (five copies) to the address shown below or by email to: steve@dcs.exeter.ac.uk Electronic submissions are preferred and must be postscript, compressed and uuencoded. Papers must describe original, previously unpublished research, be written and presented in English, and not exceed 20 pages (A4 or letter format, 12 pt type), and not be simultaneously submitted for publication elsewhere. The cover page should include the title of the paper, full names of the authors, affiliations, a short abstract, keywords, a return mailing address, an electronic mail address (if possible), and telephone and telefax numbers. All papers will be reviewed anonymously, so the body of the paper must not contain references to the authors. The second conference is being organised by IEEE Singapore in collaboration with the Department of Information Systems and Computer Science, National University of Singapore. The conference will be held at the National University of Singapore and the full programme will include a number of invited talks in addition to the presentation of accepted papers. The ICA3PP proceedings will be published by IEEE Press. Additional information will be made available through the WWW. The URL is http://www.iscs.nus.sg/conferences/ica3pp
