CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS A Symposium on High Performance Interconnects HOT INTERCONNECTS II SYMPOSIUM ============================== August 11&12, 1994 Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA Hot Interconnects debut in 1993 was a great success! Sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Microprocessors and Microcomputers, Hot Interconnects focuses on the architecture and implementation of high-performance interconnects of all scales. Hot Interconnects II will emphasize real solutions, not theoretical designs. The conference will include a broad technical program and provide a format for professionals working on a range of interconnect types to share experiences. Contributions should focus on real products, prototypes, or experimental systems and their performance evaluation. Contributions are solicited in the following and related areas: Processor-memory interconnects LAN, DAN, WAN, MAN architectures Multiprocessor and MPP interconnects Workload characterization Processor-network interface issues Performance evaluation of interconnects Operating systems issues Scalability and reliability issues Chip sets and building blocks Wireless and mobile interconnects Flow control algorithms Routing, addressing, naming and binding Since the symposium program will include both leading edge product descriptions and more traditional technical papers, there will be two submission formats. Product/prototype submissions should consist of an abstract of 3-5 pages describing the product and why it is interesting; a copy of the presentation overheads will be included in the symposium proceedings. Technical paper submissions should consist of a 4-6 page extended abstract; a full paper of up to ten pages must be submitted for the proceedings following acceptance. Submissions will be reviewed by the program committee and our reviewers. All submissions must include the name, title, address, phone number, fax number, and electronic mail address of the presenter. The type of submission, presentation-only or full-paper, should be clearly indicated. In the case of unannounced products, if the information is to be kept confidential, please indicate so and every effort will be made to maintain confidentiality. The deadline for submissions is April 1, 1994. Authors will be notified of acceptance by May 31, 1994. Final copy for full-length papers and presentation overheads will be due on July 15, 1994. Submissions can be made no later than April 1, 1994 and may be in standard PostScript via electronic mail or send 10 copies via surface mail. Submissions should be addressed to: Prof. David Culler Computer Science Division, UC Berkeley Berkeley, CA 94720 hoti@cs.berkeley.edu For further information about submissions, contact: Dr. Kathleen Nichols Fax: (415) 354-0328 Philips Research Voice: (415) 354-0328 4005 Miranda Ave Suite 175 E-mail: hoti@prpa.philips.com Palo Alto, CA 94304, General Chair: Dr. Paul Borrill, Sun Microsystems Computer Corporation Program Co-Chairs Prof. David Culler, UC Berkeley Dr. Kathleen Nichols, Philips Research
