IWT: Intelligent Writing Tutor

This study explores the issues of transfer and long-term retention of acquired knowledge in second language learning.   Specifically, we are studying acquisition of the English article system and how transfer or lack of transfer from a student’s native language (L1) influences the how students learn and retain the information.

French Verb Project

The French Verb Project looks at the challenges of teaching and creating student models in ill-defined domains. We’ve looked at how various scaffolding tasks affect student performance and thought processes when making aspectual distinctions in French.
