Loshavn Revisited

24 hours has passed since Utsira and we are south of Hidra just north of Loshavn. At kvitsoe the weather Gods finally decided that we should at least know what they had spared us. We left Utsira in fresh wind, but it kept increasing. North of Kvitsoe we were caught in strong winds from a thunder storm passing over Kvitsoe. In a major blow the front sail sheet broke leaving the front sail hammering hard in the wind now only kept in place by one sheet. It had to be fixed, but what a pain. To our luck the thunder storm went east of us and made it possible to enter Kvitsoe in only strong wind.

We decide to anchor in the middle of Loshavn's nature harbor. The wind was mild and we were ready to go to bed. But look at those nice curves made by the plotter of the GPS showing how the boat drifted from side to side in the wind. Hm ... if we zoom in all curves should end being on top of each other, but oops they were not. The GPS was plotting nice round curves moving east ! We re-checked the landmarks and sure enough, the boat was drifting slowly towards the east skerries. It was completely dark but there was no way around it. Up on the deck with a spotlight and get the anchor back up. Though luck.
