The
Workshop venue will be NIAS.
Bangalore
Airport is an international airport, but with limited international
connectivity. For international
visitors, Mumbai is possibly the best point of entry, given Delhi airport is
notorious for delays in the winter due to fog.
There are multiple flights from Mumbai to Bangalore (as well as
throughout India), on Jet Airways (the
leading private carrier) as well as Indian
Airlines (the national domestic carrier).
We should be able to help with local arrangements for Mumbai, if
required (e.g., if there is a pause in connections).
For
those interested in traveling around India, Jet Airways has a special “Visit
India” fare for visitors, which allows 2 weeks of unlimited travel (with
some restrictions).
UPDATE TO HOTELS!
Due
to various logistical reasons, we have decided to change the official hotels
for the Workshop. The hotels of choice
will be the Grand Ashok and St. Marks Hotels, both deluxe hotels. Participants need not worry about the
changes as we have arranged for airport pick and ground transportation.
We
have a negotiated rate at the hotels, under the name “IISc ICT for Sustainable
Development Bangalore Workshop.” For
most participants, we will be taking care of making the reservations, and will
send confirmations shortly.

travelers. In addition, at NIAS, we
expect to have internet access and/or computing facilities available on limited
basis. In addition, the conference will
have computer projection systems, as well as overhead projector facilities.
