Welcome!

Hi and welcome to my site. Here is some random stuff about me and things I've done.

My name is Greg Reshko. I am a student at Carnegie Mellon University currently pursuing my masters degree in Computer Science. I am interested in a variety of stuff - I like computer systems, graphics, robotics, etc. My BS degree is in computer science as well with a minor in Robotics.

My current research project is Synthetic Reality. It's a really interesting idea of creating a programmable matter. Basically you have a blob of atoms which can be configured into any shape via a command from the master computer. Each atom has an ability to move other atoms - this way the blob can configure itself into any form. In addition, every atom has its own CPU and wireless device, so they can think on their own. This presents a lot of interesting problems - ranging from graphics to distributed systems. And the applications are virtually unlimited - from toys to military vehicles.

I have done a lot of various projects in the past. I have implemented various algorithm-related problems such as Rapidly Expanding Random Trees and Street Crossing. I also worked on FrankenCritters project - the idea was to simulate a real-time artificial life. We didn't produce any monsters, but the project itself is cool :) I also invented and patented a little palm pilot robot. Take a look at the projects section of this website -- some stuff is really cool! Some of the projects done in our OS course were really interesting and graphics page definitely has some cool pictures.

More stuff will be coming soon...
