About me

I was born and raised in Bangalore, India where the dosas are reason enough for living.

I graduated from PESIT with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 2003. After that I worked on Automatic Text Categorization and Information Extraction problems at Yahoo! for four years before deciding to go to grad school at the LTI.

My lab is in the 2nd floor of Newell Simon Hall. Due to Pittsburgh's profusely hilly terrain, the 2nd floor of Newell Simon Hall is deep in the recesses of the earth. While natural light might be scarce, I am assuredly safe in the event of a nuclear explosion.
Update: We are moving to the newly constructed Gates Hillman Center in Aug 2009 where there ought to be much more natural light.

I blamed my sometimes sad demeanor on excessive exposure to B.B. King who rules the blues.
