The Seeker

The Seeker is a light following toy which responds to external stimuli such as sound or certain motions. When activated, it will seek out and head for the brightest visible light source by using a series of detectors which ring its dome. The Seeker also responds to noise, and will attempt to avoid any loud noises such as a handclap or shout. Children can have the Seeker follow them around using a light wand or attaching a beacon to their clothing (close to floor height). Power is supplied through a rechargeable battery pack, and the entire toy is controlled by a microcontroller board housed inside.

The Seeker is a slightly more expensive toy, probably retailing for between $20-$40. It is safe for children, but could pose a choking hazard if badly damaged. Like most advanced electronic toys such as remote controlled cars and the like, it is durable within certain tolerances.
