The Extra Stuff
Making presentations was probably one of the most important things we did in the class. It didn't really teach me anything but it helped me to meet people and become more comfortable making presentations.
I thought taping the presentations was a bad idea at first but I realized with every presentation after I would realize what I was doing wrong during the talk and fix it. It definitely helped to make me a better presenter. The self critiques are what made me point out and remember my mistakes. In the final viewing of my tape I saw a gradual increase in the quality of my presenting skills. I looked up more, stood up more and didn't have my hands in my pockets at the end.
Learning to make web pages will be a great help later if I ever want or need to use a web page again.
Working in groups was interesting. Personally I didn't like it because I often had ideas that were shot down. Also, I work better alone when I don't have conflicting ideas with someone to slow me down. But in class the group projects helped me to get used to working with other people which will a great asset later in school and life.
