The principle the toy is based on is the pH balance of the water tank. Although it does use plastic propellers to mix the chemicals, it is fairly safe, and too big to cause any harm to little children. Construction cost would include the plastic exterior, and the transmitter inside the submarine that would enable it to be controlled by the remote. Also, a special chip would be needed to allow for the release of chemicals. Because the shell would be made of hard plastic it would be very durable.
