Concept 3

The Flying Fish

Physical Principles:

The children must get a feel for centripetal acceleration and momentum in order to be able to throw the Flying Fish.

Children will also get a feel of projectile motion in gravity.

The Flying Fish:

Above is the stuffed toy fish, with attached cord, and the knob handle

Play:

The basic play of the flying fish is to hold the cord, spin the fish around, and release to send the fish flying through the air.  Playing with the Flying Fish can be as simple as playing a game of catch to playing football or other sports with the fish.

Cost, Durability, and Safety:

The flying fish could be constructed to be sold from $3 to $20 depending on quality.

The Flying Fish could be extremely durable to less so depending on price and materials used.

The fish is to be made so it could either be consistent with being hit with a Nerf football.  Also the fish would not be heavy enough to asphyxiate if the cord wrapped around the neck while throwing.
