Thoughts for stuff done in Week 14

Design Build Take 2, Build (4/25/2000)

This wasn't as easy as it was before, when we could use tape left and right. We sat down to do the rolling of the paper, only to find that the directions were relatively vague. We began improvising left and right, hoping to follow the design intent as much as possible. It was about halfway through the build, when we realized that we were short on newspaper. More and more improvisation ended in a structure that kinda-sorta held together.

Our design didn't fare so well....it looked like a nuke hit it. All well :)

Take our Daughters to Work Day (4/27/2000)

Another testing session, but this time we had other things to test. We decided that although the barometer was nice and neat and all, we couldn't use it for the main project. So we decide to push it to the side as a take home project. We proceeded to use the KISS (keep it simple stupid) principle and came up with three more pressure related projects. These were the dry paper experiment, the crushed soda bottle experiment, the jumping coin experiment, and the plate and cup experiment. All of these, except the jumping coin went very well.
