Toy:

The musical spirograph is a toy which consists of three major components. It contains a board, a set of gears, and a set of colored pens.Using pegs which fit into holes in the board, the child can place the gears in any arrangement they desire on the board.They can then place the colored pens into holes in the gears, also in any desired arrangement.Once the gears and the pens are in place, the child turns the crank to move the gears.As the gears move the pens draw a picture on the paper below the gears.Each gear produces a unique sound as it moves.

Concept:

The musical spirograph demonstrates basic mechanics to children.Children will see first hand how turning one gear affects the other gears.They will see that there is more than one solution to a problem. By arranging the gears in a different order, they are able to create various sounds and patterns. 

Durability:

The gears and board will be made of plastic and at an inexpensive cost.The main expenses will be to make the mold from which both the board and gears will be made.

Safety:

The musical spirograph is not for children under the age of 6 years.The small pens and some gears may be small enough for children to swallow.
