Concept 3: Flying Saucer

Brief Description	A battery powered heating coil heats the air in the saucer, causing it to inflate and rise. Movement of the saucer will be controlled solely through wind, similar to a kite, allowing the child to observe wind patterns at the same time
Physical Principle	The flying saucer is based on the fact that hot air rises due to a lower density than cooler air.
Cost of Construction	Cost of construction is moderate. The aluminum foil fabric used to make the flying saucer will be what causes the construction cost.
Durability	This toy should be fairly durable. Due to the fact that flight is not always controllable, accidents causing the toy to break are of some concern.
Safety	Although this toy is safe, the heating coil presents a small safety problem and is only intended for the use of older children.
