Concept 1:  Crazy Blocks

Details…

The “Crazy Blocks” are based on different tangible properties for children to explore.  The first and second blocks demonstrate contrasting densities and surface textures.  The third block has a liquid mass (water) shifting inside it when moved, which can be felt and pondered.  The fourth block is the gyroscope block.  It includes a small crank, which is used to make the gyroscope spin.  Once spinning, the inertia of the gyroscope is felt when moved.  The final blocks are magnetically charged and have magnetic attraction and repulsion with each other depending on which side is facing which.

These blocks would likely cost around $25 for the set.  The durability depends on the materials used, and the materials would also affect the safety.  The corners of the blocks would be slightly rounded so as to avoid potential injury.  They are very basic, so the intended age group for these blocks would be ages 3-12.
