Project 1

Problem Statement

This project is to generate conceptual designs for three toys.  Each toy should be based on a fundamental physical concept.  Examples of existing toys like this would be slinkys, rockets with baking soda/vinegar fuel and tinker toys.  The toys can all use the same physical principle or they can each be based on a different one.  The toys should:

I     attract a child’s attention

I     be interactive and fun

I     be self explanatory

I     be durable and safe

I     ideally allow for cooperative play with groups of children

I     ideally engage all of a child’s senses.

Allow yourselves couple minutes to tour around and explore the preliminary concepts.

  Concept 1

  Concept 2

  Concept 3

Any suggestions and comments regarding the concepts?

Remember that there is always room for improvement.
