Toy Concept 2: Swimming Scuba Diver

The idea behind this toy came from class when we dissected toys to practice trying to determine devices internal moving components by just examining them externally. One of the toys was an alligator that if wound up would kick simultaneously horizontally much like a frog. The scuba diver is an attempt to have a similar figure to the alligator to use an alternating kick to propel itself. With the use of a spring the toy can transfer the energy to paddle fan prop that pushes on the legs up/down, then springs reset the legs down/up.

The user could use the toy anywhere he or she wishes and can find some water allowing for the toy to float. It is a safe and very durable to because it is a singular object with a very limited motion in its legs. The torso, arms, and head would all just be one solid hard plastic piece that houses the spring and gears, and the legs would each be independent pieces of hard plastic allowing for individual movement. Since the majority of the toy is made of cheap hard plastic other then the springs it is an extremely cheap but durable toy.
