Toy Concept #2
Toy Concept
This toy is based on toy pianos. Most toy instruments are usually pianos or just a single drum. A child who plays with a toy instrument tends to learn how to play the real instrument. This toy is suppose to spark a child's interest into drums.
Toy Principle
The sound that each drum head makes depends on the size of the barrel. Each drum head will light up when it is hit by the drum sticks. The force placed on the drum heads by the drum sticks will press down on a button and complete a circuit that turns on the lights. The amount of force applied varies the brightness of the drum heads. An instruction guide is included with the drum set that teaches the toy the basics of playing a drum and music.
Cost, Durability and Safety
The material of this toy is undetermined. Using wood could be dangerous to children. Therefore, we would have to find the right plastics to make the drum heads. The cymbals would have to be some sort of metal. The cost of making this toy is undetermined and depends on the materials selected.
Age Group
The materials limit the age group of this toy to 12 and above. Children can pretend they are in a band with additional toy instruments (guitars and pianos).
