The mysterious balls

Children will be amazed to see multicolored balls hover in mid-air. A great toy for children of all ages, with supervision for those under 7. This game allows for groups of children because of the many different colored balls included. Children will love to see how the different balls hover at different heights over the air machine.

The toy is based on the fact that light balls will remain in the air, when the air is being blown. The force of the air blowing is greater than the force of gravity, so the balls will not fall. However, if a child puts their hand and blocks the airflow, the ball will fall. That's science!

To create this toy, a machine to blow air, similar to that of a hairdryer would be installed in a plastic casing. Hairdryers are typically $15, so the cost of this would probably be about twice as much. There would be a plug running from the base of the casing to an outlet, as well as a switch to turn the airflow on and off. The balls would be made out of lightweight plastic, similar to a ping pong ball. Therefore, this entire toy would be very durable. The plastic casing would protect the air vents.
