Magnetic Ball and Gloves

HOW IT WORKS
This ball is made of transparent plastic. Inside the ball is a plastic post attached at two opposite points on the ball. Attached to that post is a bar magnet that is free to spin. The north pole of the magnet is painted red, while the south pole of the magnet is painted blue. The ball comes with four gloves with magnetic strips on each finger and the palm: two blue gloves (each polarized south), and two red gloves (each polarized north). This allows two children (or adults) to mix and match the color of gloves each wears while playing catch. If one child wears both red gloves, then the blue end of the magnet will always be attracted to his hands, and the red end will be repelled, and vice versa when the child wears both blue gloves. If a child wears one glove of each color, the magnet will orient itself with one end at each of the child's hands.
WHAT THEY LEARN
By playing catch with this ball while wearing any two of the gloves, a child will learn a little bit about magnetism. By seeing that the red glove attracts the blue end of the magnet and repels the red end, a child will start to learn that opposites attract.
