Concept 3: Magnetic Board

Principle: Uses magnetism to allow children to create and control their own story board

Age Group: 4-8

A simple magnetic board onto which special magnetic sheets of felt can stick. The children can create the scene out of the felt and stick them to the board. There are also magnetic characters that can be accessorized and controlled by moving a stronger magnet around the back of the board. This medium allows children to make moving pictures.

The board must be strong, and durable. The felt will be used up over time, so it must be relatively inexpensive. Due to the use of scissors, younger children should be supervised. The cost per unit is approximately 15 dollars.
