Everything Else: Presentations, Critiques, Web Pages and Working in Groups

Presentations: For Project 1, and Exercises 1 and 2, we had to present our ideas to the class. It forced us to go through the actual process of how we came up with the solution to the given problem. It also made us work on our communication skills. Each presentation was video taped and we watched it and filled out a self-critique form. This was very useful, since you can't watch yourself give a presentation. Its much easier to see what little habits you have when you can watch it yourself rather than having other people telling you. The critique form helps to make you focus on the good things of the presentation as well as the bad.

Making Web Pages: For the toy concepts, we had to make web pages as well as for project 3. This forced people who were unfamiliar with html to gain at least a basic knowledge. For those who knew html it allowed for a chance to reinforce the knowledge.

Working in Groups: Most of the activities in Rapid Prototyping were group. For almost every activity, we had change groups. It was good to see how different people react in group situations and how the personalities of the people of the group affect the dynamics. It would have been nice if Kendra and I had been allowed in the same group a little more often tho. =)
