Life in the Fast Lane: Progress on Self Driving Cars

ABSTRACT:
For the past 12 years, members of the Navlab group in the Robotics Institute have been developing cars and trucks that drive themselves using video cameras and various forms of radar to sense the world around them. This talk will describe some of the recent accomplishments achieved in this effort, including an automated drive across the entire US, and a demonstration of 5 automated vehicles (two sedans, a minivan, and two city buses) performing coordinated manuevers at 60mph. Videos of the systems in action will be shown.
