I grew up in Emmaus, PA, and graduated from Emmaus High School in 1999. I attended Carnegie Mellon University, where I received my bachelor's degree in computer science with an additional major in philosophy and a minor in robotics, in 2003. I remained at CMU to work on my graduate degree in Robotics. I received a Masters degree in 2006, and am currently working toward my PhD.
When I'm not doing research, I can probably be found knitting or doing other crafty things.
I occasionally take bad pictures of things, which can be found on my online photo gallery.
My husband and I own a 150 gallon freshwater fishtank, in which the primary occupant is a large red-claw blue yabbie. The picture in the upper left-hand corner of this page is of our second yabbie, who didn't survive the move into our new house.
We also own a silver African ringneck parrot, whom I absolutely adore.
