About

I am a faculty member in the Robotics Institute where I hold the position of Senior Systems Scientist. I also have a courtesy appointment in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. My research interests focus on problems regarding how robots can operate robustly in human environments (indoors, roadways, industrial, etc...) and in particular how they can interact effectively with the people that inhabit those spaces. I also have represented the Robotics Institute in the faculty senate since the fall of 2010 and will do so until the end of spring semester 2012.
