My current activities

I am currently on a leave of absence, working at Microsoft as a Distinguished Scientist and Managing Director of Microsoft Research Redmond. I have just finished a stint at DARPA, where I was the founding Director of the Transformational Convergence Technology Office.

My move to Microsoft from DARPA was noted by several tech sites. See, for example, this mention in InformationWeek. Some snarkier articles appeared in the Register and Wired's Danger Room blog.

While at DARPA, I was unable to write for my blog. But watch this space for new posts, as soon as I get settled at Microsoft.

Peter Lee is a Distinguished Scientist and the Managing Director of Microsoft Research in Redmond, Washington. Prior to taking his position at Microsoft, Dr. Lee was an Office Director at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), and before that a professor and the head of the Computer Science Department at Carnegie Mellon University.
