Fall 2006 - Spring 2007

I'm going to collect pictures (mine and yours) taken throughout the year, marking important (and not so important events). Here are a few starters. Please send me any "good" pictures that you take during the year as well, and I'll post them here. It should somehow be SCS-related, but that might mean just showing SCS students. Apply the Parent Test of appropriateness to the photos: would you show the picture to your parents? Maybe one of you -someone with better web skills than I have- will volunteer to keep a repository of pictures (I can get you extra disk space for this) that actually looks nice. It is also worth IC points (which we will talk about soon).

As I rounded Dougherty Hall on orientation day, this is what I saw. A picture perfect day at CMU. The last few weeks of summer have been glorious in Pittsburgh: we've had a run of great weather. In the background is Pitt's The Cathedral of Learning; you should visit the Nationality Rooms there. When it was built, Pittsburgh's many ethnic communities raised money, each vying to have the most beautiful room.

Kickoff brunch for SCS students. After their "first all-nighter in Wean" everyone looked quite awake, and hungry.

A much "hipper" group, now that they have donned SCS's signature "flashing sun glasses".

Students file into Wean 7500 to hear Dean Randy Bryant give the opening IC Lecture, on the School of Computer Science and Verification in Hardware and Software Systems.
