(I had the spelling `Chaw' from his friend T.C. Hu, who phoned him in August 2005 to verify that he had indeed written the paper about threshold functions. T.C. is not meticulous about spelling, and of course many different systems are possible; T.C. was probably only concerned to get the character right (Unicode 7D39). So I consider the thesis reference (and patent reference) definitive, and IOU $2.56.
