I am currently a Ph.D. student at the Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute, advised by Alonzo Kelly. Prior to graduate school I worked in the Manufacturing Technology group at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics for two years. I earned bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Chinese at the University of Texas at Austin.
My thesis research is on the formulation and calibration of dynamic models for wheeled mobile robots (see my proposal). I am developing fast, accurate models to support high-performance position estimation and model predictive control/planning systems. I have broad interests in robotics beyond my thesis topic; I also have experience in industrial robotics, computer vision, and machine learning.
