About Me

family

I am currently a Research Engineer in the Unmanned Systems Section at Southwest Research Institute. I earned my Ph.D. from the Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute; I was advised by Alonzo Kelly. Prior to graduate school I worked in the Manufacturing Technology group at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics for two years. I earned bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Chinese at the University of Texas at Austin.

My doctoral dissertation was on the formulation and calibration of dynamic models for wheeled mobile robots. I developed fast, accurate models to support high-performance position estimation and model predictive control/planning systems. I also have experience in computer vision, machine learning, mechatronics, and industrial robotics.
