This paper builds a tex exploration tool by indexing the crisis related text into sentence (sentence-like) units. The data is then organized by key words (key phrases from the crisis expanded using yahoo’s queries). The second organization method is to use LDA. The (cool) result is in Table 7. The topic model lets you search on “subprime” and get back sentences that are related to the topic. This sort of summarization tool can be helpful for analyzing all the documents. Did the subprime topic come up in FOMC meetings prior to 2007?
