Elective courses provide you with the opportunity to tailor the program to your individual interests and backgrounds. Early in the program you will meet with an advisor to select electives that are consistent with your career goals.

An elective is defined as a one 9- to 12-unit full semester course or two 6-unit half semester (mini) courses.

In order to fulfill the MSIT-SE elective requirement you must complete the equivalent of four (4) 9- to 12- unit full-semester courses. Electives may be chosen from any scientific/technical department of the university.
