Directions to St. Francis Academy (30 minutes from Sacred Heart, NON-rush hour):

 - take Fifth Avenue toward Oakland/Hill to Birmingham Bridge (follow 
   Fifth past Carlow toward downtown - avoid the left lane by Carlow as it 
   turns left onto Craft). The turn for the Birmingham Bridge is at the 
   light just before the Burrell Scientific Building before Fifth heads 
   into the Hill.
 - turn left onto Birmingham Bridge; stay in left lane and turn left at 
   end onto Carson St.

**  Alternate Route for Squirrel Hill folks - take Greenfield Avenue to Second
**  Avenue and take the Hot Metal Bridge to Carson Street and turn left

 - proceed on Carson Street 1.7 miles (1.2 from the Hot Metal Bridge) to 
   Becks Run Road (Blue Belt)
 - turn right onto Becks Run and follow 2.7 miles up hill to Brownsville 
   Road (make sure you follow Becks Run (Blue Belt) near PA American Water 
   works on the way up).
 - turn left onto Brownsville Road and follow for 0.4 miles to first traffic
   light (Maytide Street, at Brookline/PA 51 sign).
 - turn right onto Maytide and follow it down until it tees into Route 51.
 - turn left onto Route 51 and immediately get in the right lane as you'll
   be turning right at the next intersection onto Route 88 (Library Road)
 - turn right onto Route 88 and follow into Castle Shannon for 1.5 miles.
 - turn left onto Grove Road (Sunoco station) and proceed up the hill 
   .4 miles. Shortly after the road bends to the right, there will be a 
   4-way intersection where uphill traffic doesn't have to stop; turn right 
   here onto McRoberts Road
 - at the second stop sign, turn slight left and then make a left into 
   the parking lot (entrance is marked by a bus stop sign). The St. Francis
   gym/activities building is opposite the parking lot.

The following directions are better if you're coming from downtown:
 - take Liberty Bridge through the Liberty Tunnel. Make sure you're in the
   right lane through the tunnel.
 - upon exiting the tunnel, take ramp to Route 51 South (second right).
 - follow Route 51 South 2.5 miles to Route 88 (Library Road).
 - turn right onto Route 88 and follow into Castle Shannon for 1.5 miles.
