RE: Bug#615

Pre-existed Bugzilla.  I don't think its a bug, its just that there isn't 100% font compatibility between 2000 and NT.

There is an issue I'm aware of in the NT to 2000 compatibility.  This is in the font area.  I know that when Marin takes their ballot layout process "home" and works at night at home on a 2000 laptop environment, and then brings the file back into their NT Server, the fonts end up being imported differently.  This is been a long term problem.  If the fix is to move them to 2000, then I think we should do that.

Tari, let me know what your plan is please.

from Jason -  Are all of us out here confident that we can now steer our customers to 2000 ?

thank you Jason -  I want some input from the support and sales group as this could have major ramifications if it is not handled correctly.

Yes, it has been thoroughly tested… I’ve ensured this for the past 8 months.  Basically, if it wasn’t fixed, I could not run CC over here in Vancouver.  We only really use 2000 and XP for our workstations here in Vancouver so I am confident that upgrading to XP/2000 will work smoothly.

I don’t see any problem with it, but then if there are any problems, it will be assigned to me as usual.  I know it is also tested out in the field as I was in Alameda County and I experimented with Rob Chen using 2000.  I realize many accounts depend on CC, which was one of the reasons why these issues were addressed early by me.

Anyway, I’m here to help so the moment you see any problems occur, I will be on it as quick as I can.

are you saying this has been thoroughly tested in 2000 using new roms or should work fine as in XP

this is a critical issue and deserves a serious answer as many customers are waiting to upgrade to 2000 with complete confidence since WE (Mike Brown ) insisted that they HAD to use NT

Please assign this if necessary and respond as soon as possible .  this will affect Pima County, City of Tucson, Alameda County, Santa Barbara  County, San Luis Obispo County, King County... to name just a few

Hi Tari,

Sorry for the lack of details on this bug.  I think it was my first bug assigned to me 8 months ago.  Anyway, those CC 2.0.10 ROMs that I have sent off previously will contain this fix.
