RE: Virus Warning

Robert,

If you post an email to the announce list, then it is implied that the
topic is of general interest and a reply to the support list is
appropriate. Granted this topic appears a little stale, being a month
and a half since the announcement, but I would rather see the question
posted here and everyone be privy to your wisdom over taking it offline
and having everyone left in ignorance.

Ken

Steve,

Please conduct emails like this directly to me, not through a
distribution list such as support.

The warning I sent below was to announce in november, it is now
december. If you have ran a full system scan with the latest mcafee
virus definition files without finding any viruses then you have nothing
to worry about.

Please, only use distribution list for virus warnings that you feel will
affect the whole company, not a reply to an announce about such a virus
warning.

Thank You,
Rob

Robert,

I've checked. I'm using the latest McAfee update and it finds no
viruses. This week you indicated email or something from me with a
virus. Can you be more specific?

A virus has been sent from Robert Diekmann via BugReport. The email
consist of the following:

Subject: April 8, 2002 Johnson
Body:
Election totals from all of the 184 voting stations used for the
April 2nd election were both machine recounted and hand counted to
insure the new electronic election system provided accurate results.
The recount verified that all voters signing the poll book had their
votes counted.

All roaming users please ensure you have the latest McAfee update to
ensure the virus gets inoculated. If McAfee did not pick up the virus
when you received it in your inbox, please download the latest update
and run a manual scan on your system. If you feel you have been
infected, please discontinue your connection to the internet and give me
