RE: RCR - Candidate Names on the SOVC & Summary Report
The observed behavior seems bugworthy. We do have to fix the length of
the candidate name because of AV tape limits, but there is no excuse to
cut off the name on the GEMS summary report *if* there is room
available. In your attached example, there is obviously room.
I have opened bug 2348 on your behalf.

Could Diebold Support tell me whether Kim (see below) is not doing
correctly, or is this limitation being experienced by everyone?

Subject: RCR - Candidate Names on the SOVC & Summary Report
Currently, any lengthy candidate name is abbreviated on all reports
according to the length that fits on the Accu-Vote print tape. For
Jeanne-Marie Rosenmeier is cut off at Jeanne-Marie Rosenme
Patricia A. Bontrager is cut off at Patricia A. Bontrage
Gary Michael Stoddard is cut off at Gary Michael Stoddar
Christine L. Gonzalez is cut off at Christine L. Gonzale
I understand the Accu-Vote tape has space limitations. The SOVC and
Summary Report have much more room and could fit the longer candidate
names if the programming could be changed to print them. See the
attached example of the html printout of the election summary report.
Can the programming be changed to allow the full candidate name be
printed on the Statement of Votes Cast and the Election Summary Reports?
Thank you for looking into this for me.
