Clarification from Crawford & Co is below:
Hello to all:
I apologize for the confusion -- I should have told Tracy that it is suggested that when renting a vehicle outside of the U.S. AND Canada liability and physical damage coverage should be purchased from the rental agency. However, when a resident of the U.S. has to take a trip to Canada and needs proof of insurance, a call should be placed either to Corporate Risk Management in No. Canton, OH or to Cynthia Santiago at Marsh, Cleveland, OH (216) 937-1515 to request a Canadian "Non-Resident" Auto I.D. Card (at least 10 days prior to the trip). Sandy Sochocki
I just had a conversation with Sandy Sochocki from Crawford & Co, if an incident happens contact Crawford & Co. at 800-845-7814. Crawford & Co. will deal with the car rental agency for us whether the claim be auto liability or physical damage claim. You will need to know your cost center number which is listed below in Tracy's email.
