RE: Responsibility for recording audio (was RE: TSText to include wave files for French - 1036)

You are wrong Ian, consider yourself corrected.  Jeff said “we” would find someone to record audio.  I asked him to elaborate on the pronoun in question.

And yes this should be on the support list.  That is why I took the discussion there yesterday with the revised subject.

I have been less than subtle on this question for some time.  Overnight has nothing to do with it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see Ken's question "who is responsible" in the message thread below.  To clarify further, I wasn't responding to Ken.

BTW:  Why is this even on the rcr list?  It's a support issue and should be handled through that department.  Why be subtle asking who is responsible?  Jeff Hintz should discuss this with his supervisor.  When Steve Moreland is aware of this issue, he'll make it an action item and assign it a priority and resources.  Steve Moreland can post a project status list to the support email list to keep everyone up to date (akin to development posting an rcr status list.)

Overall strategies don't occur overnight, so in the meantime, let's move forward instead of dancing around in circles and give Jeff Hintz some help where we can.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Ken's question was "who is responsible" so we can formulate an overall strategy for dealing with specific recording needs as well as new requirements.

For the Bexar County audio requirement, Jeff Hallmark had found a company in Dallas that provided translations and audio recordings of exceptional quality.  The company name is Sonic Media.  The contact number is 972.384.0900.  I don't know if they can create French audio files, but I'm sure it's worth a phone call.  Jeff Hallmark was also impressed with their turnaround time.  If you need more detail, contact Jeff Hallmark.

Diebold.  (Whoever is in charge of Recording)

My recordings of TSText for both English & Spanish were a one time deal.  I have not studied the French language yet, so I cannot do the recording in French.  Maybe sometime in the future.

He doesn’t.  Can you now elaborate on “we”.  :-)

Since Greg is from Canada, I assumed that he spoke French.  If this is not the case, then we will need to find someone that speaks French to do all of the TSText and ballot recording.

Jeff, can you please elaborate on “you” in your message below.  Is Greg Forsythe (an English speaking sales person) being assigned to record the TS-Text audio, or will the service group perform this task?

You should start recording all the TS-Text and ballot info now.
