I have tested the following modems, sent to me by Ian, with AccuVote-TS R6 unit.

 

The following modems successfully uploaded to GEMS:

    ActionTec DataLik 33.6 kbps V.34+ Fax/Modem

    Zoom V.92 Pc Card Modem

    MultiTec MultiMobile 56K Modem

    PC_Card v.90 Modem

 

The Hawkings 56K V.90 Fax/Modem locked up the system while it was inserted.  I will try to determine the cause for this but in the mean time do not use this type of modem.

I purchased a ThinFax 56L low power 56K PCMCIA modem for the R6 for 60.09 and tested it successfully - thanks to Jeff Hintz's tips -  it is plug and play - all you do is enter the phone number and IP address - or host name and it uploads

I got it from www.Provantage.com
