RE: Absentee Header Cards? for GEMS



What Jeff Hintz is referring to is the sequencing on the Precinct header
cards.  He is stating it is "generic" because the cards are generated in
sequences of 1,2,3,4, etc., and don't necessarily identically match the
county's precinct numbers unless they are also in a sequence.  The cards are
generated by a script file that does a sequence by range, i.e.,  1049 to
2032, 9243 to 10615, etc.  What the script file can't do is print numbers
that aren't in sequence or pull numbers from spread sheets or databases.

We print Batch Header Cards in the same manner.

Perhaps Spectrum has some software that might be able to pull data from a
database and generate the ballots.  I'll CC David Dean and see what his
comments are.
