SCHOOL OF COMPUTER SCIENCE A social robot, Snackbot, being developed by Sara Kiesler and Jodi Forlizzi of the Human-Computer Interaction Institute and Paul Rybski of the Robotics Institute is one of eight Human-Robot Interaction RFP proposals selected by Microsoft External Research to share $500,000 in funding. SCHOOL OF COMPUTER SCIENCE Congratulations to Henry DeYoung this year's winner of the Allen Newell Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research. Henry's paper is titled "An Authorization Logic with Explicit Time" and his advisor is professor Frank Pfenning.

SCHOOL OF COMPUTER SCIENCE The 23rd International IEEE Symposium on Logic in Computer Science (LICS 2008) will be held at Carnegie Mellon University on June 24--27, 2008. This event is co-located with the IEEE Symposium on Computer Security Foundations (CSF 2008). The LICS Symposium is an annual international forum on theoretical and practical topics in computer science that relate to logic in a broad sense. Registration and more information.
