Pittstop 2007

Peter and I started Lindy Hop in November, 2007. Since then, we have taken Lindy 1-3 (level 2 twice) at the Wightman School with Lisa and John, Kevin & Emily's performance class at Edgewood club, as well as their aerial workshop. One of our first Swing events in Pittsburgh was - apart from the weekly Saturday night swing dances at Wightman School  - the Pittstop 2007. Also worth checking out is the Chicken Swing  at CMU.

Even though it was sometimes frustrating to dance our few figures in between the community of experienced Lindy Hoppers in Pittsburgh, we had a lot of fun ever since we started with our first rock-step-triple-step...

Especially the performance class gave us an experience that included the whole scale of frustration, sweat, and joy. In this 6-week course, we learned a choreography to one song by a Pittsburgh Jazz band - the Boilermaker's . The class was meant to result in a group of Pittsburgh Lindy hoppers performing live together with the band. So far, our only performance was at Peter's birthday party in March 2008.
