I got my first camera when I turned 10. At that age, I mostly took snapshots - not only of people, but also of things around me, nature and reflections (which have always fascinated me). Later, I bought a mirror reflex camera - a Minolta Dynax 505si. When I was 15, I did an internship at a photo laboratory where I learned a lot about everything from portrait photography to develop pictures in the darkroom. I then joined a local photo club, the Fotogruppe Bickenbach, where I took part in excursions, workshops, and contests.
After moving to Freiburg, I didn't have as much time for photographing as before. Nonetheless, when I had to sell my old Mini Cooper, I needed some recompensation and bought a digital mirror reflex camera - a Canon Eos 350D.
When I am photographing, I am trying to go through whatever surrounding I might find myself in, and try to see what little things that you wouldn't notice in your everyday lives make the impression special. This way, I am trying to capture what is special in "real life", as opposed to seeing the real world through the lense from the very beginning on. Schemes that are most fascinating to me are reflections, things out of order, and human interactions.
I recently started with HDR. I'll put up my first results at my flickr page, but I'm a little behind in that regard...
