Admissions

There are open positions in my group for Graduate Students (for MS/Ph.D)

• Students with background in Computer Science and/or Mathematics or related fields may apply
• Knowlege in Biology-oriented subjects is a plus but not prerequisite
• Typically, having only B.S in biotechnology or bioinformatics with no other degree in CS/Math/Engineering is not sufficient

Students from PhD / MS programs from the following programs usually are able to join this group

• Department of Biomedical Informatics, University of Pittsburgh
• Intelligent Systems Program, University of Pittsburgh
• Joint CMU-Pitt PhD program in Computational Biology
• Language Technologies Institute, Carnegie Mellon University
• M.S. program of Department of Computational Biology, Carnegie Mellon University

There are open positions in my group for Undergraduate Students

Students from undergraduate programs are usualy able to join my group through the following mechanisms

• First Experiences in Research, University of Pittsburgh
• Undergraduate thesis work (from Pitt / CMU)
• Summer Internship (anyone can apply)

Undergraduate students should either be proficient in programming or apply as a team with overall specialization of team in computer science + biology
