I work at Oculus Research and my research is at the intersection of computer graphics, facial animation, and perception. If you are interested in internships at Oculus Research email me (change the at).
I completed my PhD in the Robotics
Institute at Carnegie Mellon University in August 2014. My PhD thesis was on on perceptually valid facial animation. Part of my graduate training included how to be a research mouseketeer (Disney Research) and Jedi (Industrial Light and Magic).
I grew up in Romania, went to high school in Constanta by the Black
Sea. In 2008 I graduated with a B.A. in computer science from Mount Holyoke
College. Around graduation time, I spent several months at the Max Planck for Biological Cybernetics in Tuebingen, Germany as a
visiting student/intern where I focused on improving virtual reality environments. I have also worked on, and am interested in, biomechanics and gait analysis.
