From the Boss
Andrew's Leap 2009:
- If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask us!
There is no such thing as a silly or bad question.
And we aren't mind readers (yet).
Besides...chances are somebody else has the same question.
- Pardon our dust!
Yes, that is a BIG construction site on campus.
There will be two buildings in this site:
The Gates Center for Computer Science
and the Hillman Center for Future-Generations Technology.
The buildings will be connected via a bridge, which inturn connects
to Newell-Simon and Wean Halls.
You will be able to travel through
all our buildings easily!
Many divisions in the School of
Computer Science will move into these new facilities the first
two weeks of August.
- Visit the Faculty Talks/Schedule regularly!
The schedule changes and if you forget what's up
this is your chance to plan ahead.
- Please don't be late for class.
Yeah, yeah. We know this is what you hear all the time.
But other people are counting on you to be there.
In class, everyone is important plays a part. We notice your absence.
If you anticipate missing a class or lab session, let us know!
- DO NOT Be Afraid of the Interesting Test!
This test is not intended to scare you off.
It's a mechanism to assure you all can work at a common level and
to make sure the class feels comfortable with the courses we offer.
- DO NOT Worry if you don't understand something.
Not everything is easy or intuitive.
When you don't understand something, ask for help.
Remember, when you find something difficult to master, this is
when real learning begins....
Eureka moments can be exhilarating.
