Microsoft Webcam UI

2006 | User Interface Design for Microsoft Web Camera.

As part of a new initiative in the Hardware organization at Microsoft a small team took the challenge of expanding the product line to include communication devices. I was the Lead Interaction Designer in the project and was responsible for the design and specification of the UI, which is common to a line of web cameras including desktop and mobile cameras. The UI has integration points with the Messenger client, for which the Hardware team at Microsoft and the Messenger team collaborated to come up with the final solution.

In my lead role I owned the UI specification for the product and led contractors and vendors to deliver the final assets, demos and specs to development.

Following Microsoft standard practices, I worked with a highly qualified group of user researchers and usability specialists who were part of my immediate User Experience team as well as User Assistance professionals and Industrial Designers.
