Lucia Castellanos is an Applied Science and Engineering leader at Amazon. She believes in the power of data, science and engineering as a critical triad to solve many life and world problems. Lucia leads a multidisciplinary team that deals with big data and serves targeted recommendations. She holds two patents related to this work. A native from Mexico, Lucia holds a BSc in Applied Mathematics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, a MSc in Informatics from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, and a PhD in Machine Learning from Carnegie Mellon University.
