Kristie Seymore

I'm a Ph.D. student at the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. I'm interested in the areas of statistical language modeling, information extraction, machine learning and speech recognition.

I'm currently on leave (as of Feb. 2000), working full-time at WhizBang! Labs on problems of information extraction and text classification.

You can check out what's happening in speech research at CMU or visit the School of Computer Science.

Research:

My thesis work focuses on language modeling and information extraction. I'm also interested in topic detection, document clustering, the automatic organization of text, and speech recognizer error analysis. I have previously done work in scaleable language models.

My advisors are Roni Rosenfeld and Raj Reddy. The whole Sphinx gang is listed here.
