Books have been my constant companion since childhood. I guess, my first rendezvous with books was when my mom used to read us bedtime stories at night. I liked the stories so much that I wanted to break free from mom's reading ! So gradually I started reading them myself, which started a journey, and I have never looked back since.
As with films, I like reading a variety of books in both my mother tongue and English. I read both fiction and non-fiction. Fiction attracts me more. I get lost in the make believe world of any story very easily. Among fiction, science fiction is my favorite, and among SF writers Isaac Asimov is my best writer. I liked his book "Second Foundation" the best. That makes this book my all time favorite.. well.. hmm.. (That's the problem talking to a computer scientist.. Always trying to apply deductive reasoning !!).

The infinite has always fascinated me. Whenever I look up at the sky, the infinite array of luminous beacons in the infinite darkness, always gives me a sense of deep awe. I am very interested in our universe and the science of astronomy that tries to study it. I was the proud owner of a tiny telescope (50 mm objective). This had opened an exciting world before me. These days I do not get much time to devote to this hobby. The Pittsburgh sky is seldom without cloud cover. It has always been my dream to own a "real" sized telescope, and pierce the mysteries of night.
